MY REVIEW
Another dirty series by Meghan March and I couldn't wait to meet Boone Thrasher. Who is he? Boone was Holly Wix's (from Dirty Billionaire) singing partner. They were paired together before Holly met Creighton Karas. Honestly, I couldn't connect with Boone at all since his first appearance and I hope this book will change my vision about him.
Boone Thrasher couldn't believe his girlfriend's disappearance when he's about to propose her. Suddenly she just married with someone else all over media. Angry and confused Boone and his friend went out to a bar. There's Ripley Fischer, a bartender also owner with sarcastic mouth and hate celebrity because they're always bring trouble. Her heart slowly melted with Boone's action to save her ass despite the celebrity's drama around them.
Ripley and Boone are the most hardest main characters in the entire Dirty series. Each of them has unforgivable flaws and totally unrealistic. Let's start with Ripley. She's no bad-ass, independent or whatsoever. She was trapped in the past of her dead mother and 'volunteer' to be a punching bag for her shitty father and bitch cousin. Ripley is such a masochist and stubborn AF. The only right thing about her is, she's the most unluckiest heroine I've ever met. Bottom line, Ripley frustrated me.
Boone is no better than Ripley. Just because he's a famous singer, it doesn't mean he's flawless. His first act towards Ripley totally asshole move. Totally major turn off and not impressive. You know, first impression is everything. He's also trapped with his anger towards the ex-GF. Ripley became his escape because he's in lust with her.
The story was predictable. Damsel in distress slash Cinderella story. Ripley's life messed up since she met Boone. Despite everything Ripley hated for celebrity, she couldn't help to never wear panties around Boone. I couldn't help roll my eyes with their sex because the lack of chemistry. Of course, Boone has dirty mouth and super twister tongue or magical fingers to bring orgasm for her.
I know Meghan March's writing always incredible and addictive. I couldn't put this down also roll my eyes *again* with how unreal is their drama. Their story didn't interest me but I'm curious with Ripley's dead mother. I also found my interest with Esteban the parrot. He's more hilarious than both MCs. Overall, it's a decent read with celebrity drama.
