Max Riley is the man of your dreams. Or at least he will be, for a price.

As his alter-ego Mister Romance, Max is a drop-dead gorgeous escort who makes romantic fantasies come to life. No sex, just swoon-worthy dates to die for, and the cream of New York's socialites can't get enough. Whether they want a dominating billionaire, bad boy with a heart of gold, hot geek, sexy biker, or best friend who loves them from afar, Max can make it all happen, but he's careful to keep his real identity a secret.

Enter investigative journalist Eden Tate. Having caught wind of the urban legend of Mister Romance from a lovestruck client, Eden is determined to publish a scathing expose on Max and his ability to swindle lonely society women out of their fortunes.

Desperate to protect his anonymity and his clients, Max challenges Eden to give him three dates. If she doesn't fall in love with him, she can run her story with his blessing. If she succumbs to his charms, the story dies.

Cynical Eden has no doubt she can resist his fake romance personas, but when the real Max admits he’s falling for her, she has to decide if the professional liar is telling the truth, or if the passionate man with the mysterious past is just one more character designed to con her out of her career-making story.

Don’t miss this sizzling new standalone from the internationally best selling author of Bad Romeo, Broken Juliet, and Wicked Heart.

MY REVIEW

Confession time! I'm conflicted to read this book at first. This was my first read from Leisa Rayven. The title and blurb sounds cheesy and so girly. Yikes, but the cover is totally eye-catching and won my heart. Anyway, I almost DNF this right away because the heroine was sooo unlikable. But I survived when I have my answers.

Eden Tate is your ordinary woman with insecurities issues. I quite liked her in person. She's non-believer of love and relationship. But she has really ugly taste with men in her one night stand. Ugh. Eden has a sister who has opposite side of her. They're really a tight and loving sibling.

What I hate the most is the hate and love relationship with her job. With constant snapping of her boss, Eden needs something scandalous. Eden came across Mister Romance's story and decided to expose him. She thinks he's a con-artist with sweet talk to earn money.

After some events happened to Eden, finally she met the real Mister Romance aka Max Riley. He's very private person at first. Of course, because Eden is like blood thirsting leech with her judgmental thinking. Max decided to give Eden the experience of Mister Romance. With her issues, Eden confidence to not falling for Max.

He’s not a friend. He’s not a lover. He’s a walking, breathing erogenous zone who fascinates me and infuriates me in equal measure. He’s like a wild beast that can rip out my internal organs with no effort at all, and now that he’s invading my inner sanctum, I’m horrified to find I enjoy having him here. It’s bizarre and unsettling.

I admit the plot was promising with the whole fantasy boyfriend. You could hire Max for whatever your wish but still there's some rules. No sex with clients; only kissing. I think Max did great job to melt Eden's cold heart. He seems sincere and natural with her. Also Eden really enjoyed her time with Max. The sparks between them feels real. When they have sex, uhm.. I could say it isn't my style but still acceptable.

“When I'm with you, you're all I see.”

When everything went smooth, Eden is back with her issues and it frustrated me. The story was nicely written but dragging a bit with Eden and Max's constant tug-of-war. When they spilled the past, I was like.. Uhm, Okay. Also there's a bit insta-love between them and totally predictable. But I'm glad it isn't end with wedding and baby. They're barely know each other. Pft.

Max already sacrificed many things to be with Eden. Even she redeemed herself in the end despite the jealousy and trust issues. Overall, Mister Romance is an okay read for me. Not really memorable but Max is swoon-worthy enough.

“Do you still think that happy endings are a myth?”
“I may not believe in happy endings, but happy beginnings are another story.”
