Benny loves his pretty little dolls.
As long as they do exactly as they're told.
He keeps them perfect by brushing their hair
and gives them pretty dresses to wear.
He likes to toy with them late at night.
One so timid but the other likes to fight.
When his favorite doll runs away...
despite the other doll promising to stay,
his heart becomes broken and he can't help but cry.
He wants her back home or his pretty little doll must die.

Have you ever had to make a decision that haunts you every single day for the rest of your life…the life you stole back?
I have.
I ran for my survival, rocks and twigs cutting into the soles of my feet, my lungs burning and screaming for rest, every muscle tensed and fighting along with me for existence.
I left her.
I ran, ran, ran—from Benny and his lone, pretty little doll—until I couldn’t remember where to find them again.
I’m sorry.

MY REVIEW

Ker Dukey feat K Webster? What an insane duet. You should read how dark and deprived their works. And what's all the hype about this book? Well, I warned you this isn't gonna be pretty.

We lived on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet town, but that didn’t mean the monsters of the world weren’t always lurking.
They’re everywhere, he said, not just in the shadows.
...not all monsters hunt in the dark.

✔ Once upon a time, there lived two naïve little girls lives in a safe place by their parents. The oldest, Jade Phillips is old enough to be careful around strangers and the other one, Macy is a brat who wants a pretty little doll. Instead going home, they were stolen by a charming monster named Benny.

✔ Eight years later, Jade fulfilled her dream to became a homicide detective to track down her captor, Benny. She managed to escape but left her little sister, Macy. Jade promised to herself to save her until this day. She still couldn't forget the scars from her captor. I just simply amazed with her strength and determination. Jade is a survivor.

✔ Four years of nightmare didn't erase what happened with her. Sometimes Jade went through meltdown. But I was glad her partner, Dillon fully supported her more than just a friend. Jade found her attraction to Dillon. It started with lust and they're so hot for each other. Jade is a hard-ass woman and need someone like Dillon to be her rocks. Dillon vowed to help Jade until the end. One of my issue is, how hard to feel their chemistry. As a friend? Yes, but not enough to become a lover.

Dillon finds a way to show me with his body that I’m not alone. That I’ll never have to be alone again.
“My beautiful, broken girl,” he murmurs against my mouth as he slides in and out of me in a torturous manner. “All of your pieces are mine to hold. Each shard is mine to willingly slice myself on. You’re worth the pain. In fact, I want to embrace that pain if it means, even for one second, I can take some of that pain from you.”

✔ It was very disturbing and brutal how Jade revealed all of her years in captivity as Benny's doll through the flashbacks. Benny is a sadistic monster. It's still unknown what's his motive or he just simply psychopath to fulfill his twisted needs? He also didn't hesitate to kill the person he kidnapped. Another issue for me is Benny's obsession towards Jade that isn't enough to convince me. Benny wants his lost doll back.

✔ The story told from Jade's POV which is terrifying and engaging. I couldn't put this down until the end. This duet author succeed to made a very dark story. The plot was amazing and flowed nicely. The ending surprised me and unpredictable. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.

“Welcome home, dirty little doll.”
